Monroe Community Continues to Pray for Victim of Wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road

The victim of a wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road in Monroe on Nov. 10 remains in the hospital.

Jennifer Ford, 29, of Monroe, was airlifted to Gwinnett Medical following a single vehicle wreck on Ho Hum Hollow Road in Monroe on Nov. 10. She remains in the hospital as the community prays for her recovery.

According to Trooper Allen with the Georgia State Patrol, Ford was alone in her Ford Expedition at about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, when the Ford Expedition she was driving left the road and hit a tree. According to GSP, it took about an hour to extricate her from the vehicle. She was then transported by helicopter to Gwinnett Medical Center where she remains.

"I was not able to speak to her so I'm not sure of her reason for leaving the road," Allen said. "I believe she was on her way to pick up a child at the time. Indications are that she left the road, tried to correct and over-corrected, leaving the road and hitting a tree."

Allen said because of Ford's condition immediately after the accident he was unable to interview her so he does not yet have full details of the circumstances that led to her leaving the road.

In the meantime, Ford's husband, Darren, has kept the community updated on his wife's condition on his Facebook page as she struggles to deal with her injuries. All indications are that she has a long road to recovery ahead of her.

This is the second serious accident on Ho Hum Hollow Road in less than a month. Three people were injured at the intersection of Ho Hum Hollow and Youth Monroe Road on Oct. 31.
