Monroe Downtown Ta-Ta Stroll Scheduled for Oct. 11

Monroe Downtown and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Walton County is inviting residents to turn out and show their pink pride in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness.

Monroe Downtown, in conjunction with The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Walton County, is inviting residents to participate in The Downtown Ta-Ta Stroll, what Downtown Monroe describes as "a classy evening for the ladies of Monroe to enjoy friends, delicious food and drinks, shopping, and lots of fun! A percentage of the proceeds from participating stores that evening goes directly to Breast Cancer research."

The event is scheduled for to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday atΒ  "Ta-Ta Headquarters" at Amici Topside. Stores will be open until 9 p.m. and people are encourage to go downtown, have dinner, drinks, shopping, pampering and fun - all in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Many of the downtown businesses will be participating by offering "pink specials." Storefronts will be decorated and participants are encouraged to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

According to Monroe Downtown, the following "pink specials" will be offered:

  • Van Gar Salon will be doing pink hair streaks - along with raffling off a fabulous pink gift basket filled with wonderful goodies!
  • Amici will be offering speciality pink cocktails to kick the evening off
  • Avalon Salon will be offering a special pink manicure
  • Family Billiards will be offering fresh squeezed pink lemonade
  • The Jagged Edge Salon will be offering pink goodies
  • Clarabelle's will have specialty pink gift items on sale
  • Your Sister's Closet will be raffling off a fabulous pink Coach purse
  • Buckles Hardware will be offering special deals on their pink John Deere apparel

There will be other "Pink Specials" available to benefit Breast Cancer research. "Pink Stars," in remembrance of loved ones who have lost the battle with cancer as well as those currently fighting the battle, will be available with a donation. These pink stars will be hung in the trees of downtown and left as a "pink walk" for the remainder of the weekend.
