The accident happened at about 4:18 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
A 32-year-old Monroe woman was seriously injured in a single vehicle wreck on Lee Peters Road on Saturday, March 16, 2013, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
According to Trooper First Class Barton with the GSP, Jennifer Roberson, 32, of Monroe, was traveling south on Lee Peters Road in a 1997 Toyota Avalon at about 4:18 p.m. on Saturday. He said she was attempting to negotiate a curve when for some unknown reasons she traveled off the west shoulder of the road. She over-corrected, came back on the road and over-corrected a second time causing the car to begin rotating before hitting a tree. Barton said the vehicle connected with the tree on the right side of the car.
Roberson was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center by ambulance with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. Barton said Roberson was wearing a seat belt, but faces charges of failure to maintain lane.
