Obituary and Funeral Arrangements: Lonnie A. Smith, 71, of Monroe

Lonnie A. Smith, age 71 of Monroe, passed  away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.  A Funeral Service will be  held at 11AM, Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home.  Allen Smith, Dr. George Rajoo and Kevin A. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain.  Dr. Greg Pope will officiate. 

A retired Expediter with the U. S. Postal Service with 34 years of service, Mr. Smith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle,  who sacrificed a lot for his family.  He was a long time member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church and attended Faith Baptist Church in Monroe. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, Marvin L. Smith. He is survived by: Wife of 47 years: Mary Anne Smith, Monroe; Children: Kevin A. & Sharleen Smith, Conyers; Jason A. & Olivia Smith, Covington; Jennifer A. & Cliff Shannon; Jennifer E. & Tory Tarleton, all of Monroe; Mother: Polly Smith, Conyers; Brothers: Charles, Allen, Roger, Terry, Mike; Grandchildren: Will, Nate & Elijah Shannon, Andi Smith, Savanna Smith, Reed, Scout, & Creek Tarleton. Mr. Smith  was  anticipating the arrival of his 9th Grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
