Patient Lifelighted After His Vehicle Collided with a Tractor-Trailer on Highway 81 in Barrow County

An accident Tuesday afternoon involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer carrying cars resulted in a patient being flown to an area hospital.

Scott Dakin, public information officer for Barrow County Emergency Services, said the accident occurred at Ga. Highway 81 and Rivermill Road and one individual had to be extracted from the car involved. A second patient was transported via ambulance to an area hospital.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said that due to the injuries and extensive damage, the Georgia State Patrol is working the investigation of the accident.
