Pedestrian Hit on Alcovy Station Road in Walton County on Monday

The 53-year-old man was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center in a serious condition.

A 53-year-old Griffin man working in Walton County was hit by a car while he was crossing Alcovy Station Road on Monday morning.

According to Trooper First Class Barton with the Georgia State Patrol, Anthony Poore was hit by a Honda Pilot that was traveling south on Alcovy Station Road. Barton said Poore stepped out after a truck north had passed him and was struck by the Honda, which was driven by Tiffany Farmer, 32, from Covington.

Poore, who was working for a private contracting company trimming trees from power lines in the Covington area of Walton County, was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center in a serious condition.
