Georgia Delegates Get a Taste of Tampa While in Town for RNC

Georgia Rep. Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) and his wife, Vickie, are in Tampa, Fla. for the Republican National Convention. Williamson is with the Georgia Delegation.

Georgia Rep. Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) is a first time delegate from Monroe, GA. He traveled to the Republican National Convention with his wife Vickie. They spent the morning with other Georgia delegates at breakfast and the Governor's luncheon at their hotel, the Grand Hyatt in Tampa.

After lunch, they boarded busses and rode into downtown Tampa. Walking to the Tampa Bay Times Forum, many members in the group stopped to pose for photos outside the venue.

"I hope the process moves smoothly," he said, referring to the start of the Republican National Convention's second day. "It's all about getting Mitt Romney elected."

Williamson says he and the delegates have enjoyed their first few days in Tampa. They were especially glad that Tropical Storm Isaac didn't cause the severe weather some thought it would. The delegates had dinner last night at Tampa's well known Columbia Restaurant in historic Ybor City.

"What a great landmark," he said. "I had the red snapper. It was delicious and at a very reasonable cost."

"Tampa is a cool city. I've never been here, but it's really nice."
