Walton County Deputies Called to Investigate Report of Suspicious Man with Firearm

Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls on Aug. 29- Sept. 3, 2013.

Zone 1

  • Subject with a firearm – A white male exited his vehicle on Kari Brook Lane holding a firearm. The subject asked the complainant to get out of her vehicle. The complainant left the scene and dialed 9-1-1. The subject was described as a white male wearing a University of Georgia ball cap, with a short brown beard, brown hair, approximately 40-50 years old. The subject was reportedly driving a newer model 4-door pickup truck.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant during a safety check on Cannon Farm Rd. @ Ashland Farm Rd.
  • Stolen Vehicle – A 1986 yellow Ford Van was taken from a residence on Hwy 138. A suspect has been named in the theft.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Monroe Jersey Rd. @ H.D. Atha Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Arrest – A subject was arrested on Geoffrey Lane for an outstanding warrant.
  • Identity Theft – A report was made on Westside Way in reference to a subject opening a Comcast account in the complainants name without authorization. The suspect has been named.
 
Zone 2
  • Stolen Vehicle – A 2001 black Volvo was taken from Hwy 11 @ Mahlon Smith Rd. The vehicle owner had left the unlocked vehicle at this location due to mechanical problems. The keys were left inside the vehicle.
 
Zone 3
  • Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Jones Pines in reference to someone possibly attempting to steal a utility trailer.
  • Arrest – A subject was arrested for D.U.I on MLK Jr. Blvd. @ Michael Etchison Rd.
  • Dispute – Two subjects, on Bethany Church Rd., were arrested for Disorderly Conduct following a dispute.
  • Burglary Attempt – A side window at a residence on Vasco Adcock Rd. was forced open. An alarm sounded, which alerted a neighbor who in then called 9-1-1. No items were reported missing. Extra patrol was requested.
 
Zone 4
  • Extra Patrol – Vehicles were reportedly speeding in the Green Acres subdivision. Extra patrol was requested.
  • Theft – A pressure washer was taken from a garage at a residence on Tommy Dillard Rd. Suspects have been named in the theft.
 
Zone 5
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Brooks Trail in Alcovy Bluff. All windows and doors were secure.
  • Suspicious Person – Someone rang the doorbell at a residence on Appalachee Ridge in Appalachee Ridge subdivision. The subjects ran from the residence after ringing the doorbell.
  • Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Appalachee Ridge in Appalachee Ridge subdivision.
  • Damage to Property – A bullet entered a residence on Plantation Ridge Court. The bullet entered a wall then hit the resident’s bed. No injuries were reported.
  • Damage to Property – A report was made on Stock Gap Rd. in reference to a homeowner’s mailbox being damaged or either stolen multiple times within the past month. Suspicious juveniles were seen in the area walking. Extra patrol was requested.
 
Zone 6
  • Damage to Property – A mailbox was damaged on Sydney Way.
  • Theft – Laundry detergent and a pair of sandals were taken from an open garage at a residence on Hwy 20.
  • Suspicious Person – A white male walked out of the wood line behind a residence on Woodland Dr. The subject asked the homeowner for a cigarette. The subject was gone when Walton County deputies arrived on scene. The area was checked and no contact was made with the subject.
  • Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Miller Bottom Rd. @ South Sharon Church Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Burglary – A burglary in progress was called into 9-1-1. Two white male subjects, one adult and one juvenile, were chased into the woods behind a residence on Dove Drive. The subjects were found and arrested for Burglary. Most items were recovered.
  • Damage to Property – A window was broken at a residence on Claude Brewer Rd.
  • Chase – Two subjects fled on foot after a traffic stop on Youth Monroe Rd. Both subjects were later apprehended and arrested.
