WCSO Offers Citizens Firearms Training

This information is from the Walton County Sheriff's Office Training Division.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to offer a four hour Citizens Firearms Training Course. The class consists of an overview of basic Georgia laws concerning firearms carry, firearms safety, and marksmanship instruction. The cost of the class is $30.00 per person, non-refundable, payable in cash or money order only. To enroll in the course, please visit the Sheriff’s Office main lobby, located at 1425 South Madison Avenue, Monroe, GA 30655. Classes will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. To attend the class, you must be at least 21 years old and provide your own handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition. The class instruction will not cover marksmanship instruction for rifles or shotguns. Notice, the Sheriff’s Office will not provide a firearm or ammunition. The Sheriff’s Office will provide all required safety gear and targets.

The location for all classes will be the Sheriff’s Office Lobby. Upon enrollment, you will receive a separate informational sheet providing instructions for the day of training.
