Zoo AtlantaΒ filed a building permit application with city officials as part of its plans to construct a new amphibian and reptile complex.
The new structure would replace the 51-year-old World of Reptiles building, the oldest structure at the zoo.

Local Store Busted for Selling Synthetic Pot - Cumming Patch
Forty bags of possible synthetic marijuana were confiscated by authorities on Thursday from a convenience store in Cumming.
Deputies with the Narcotics Unit of the Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office found the substance hidden above a tile in the ceiling of the Save Money Food Mart located at 3671 Hutchinson Road.
Enamuel Haque, 53, of Duncan Court in Lawrenceville was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.
This is not the first time Haque has been in troube with authorities.

Police Seize 67 Pounds of Meth/Cocaine in Sandy Springs Apartment - Sandy Springs Patch
Sandy Springs narcotics detectives seized over 67 pounds of methamphetamine, Thursday, at Colonial Grand Apartments in the 8900 block of Roswell Road.
Also seized were 2.4 kilos of cocaine and over $20,000 cash. One man, whose name is not being released, was taken into custody.
Chief Ken DeSimone commented that the seizure was the largest confiscation of methamphetamine since the department's inception in 2006.

Man Allegedly Threatened Cobb Judge - Smyrna-Vinings Patch
Officials with theΒ Cobb County Sheriff's OfficeΒ on Wednesday arrested a Bartow County man who authorities said threatened a Cobb County Superior Court judge.
Paul Lavalle Nally, 67, was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at his Rydal home on a charge of terroristic threats, Nancy Bodiford, the spokeswoman for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office, said in a statement.
According to Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren, the Cobb Sheriffβs Office began an investigation in early February 2013 after receiving a complaint alleging Nally sent an email to theΒ Cartersville City Schools Board of Education, threateningΒ Cobb County Superior CourtΒ Judge Adele Grubbs.

Waving Around a BB-Gun Lands Man in Jail - Athens Patch
On April 5 officers responded to a call of a man with a gun in the area of Lexington Road and Robert Hardeman Road.
The caller said a man was waving a gun around and acting like he was going to discharge the weapon. On arrival officers searched the area and located the offender, William Carey Holley. Β
The gun was recovered. Police learned it was a BB type gun. Holley was arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct and Criminal Trespass.
