Sprayberry Fine Arts Teacher Honored

At the annual Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference held Jan. 26-28, Evelyn Champion, 's Orchestra Director, was named the 2011 Georgia Music Educator of the Year.

Champion graduated Magna Cum Laude with High Honors from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, and holds her Master of Music Education and Education Specialist degrees from the University of Georgia as well.

Champion taught at for nine years before transferring to Sprayberry High School in 2003, where she now serves as Orchestra Director, Advanced Placement Music Theory teacher, and Fine Arts Department Chair.
