Cobb Teen Arrested in Rollover Crash

An East Cobb teenager turned herself in Monday night to face serious charges from a rollover crash in Marietta in September.

Hannah Caitlin O’Donnell, 19, of the 1200 block of Manor Crest Court is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond, according to records.

O’Donnell was driving a white 2006 Nissan 350Z when she lost control on the ramp to Interstate 75 northbound from the Canton Road Connector the night of Sept. 21, The Marietta Daily Journal reported at the time, citing .

The car rolled down a hill, the MDJ said, throwing one passenger, Michael Compton, 26, from the vehicle.

He and O’Donnell were treated and released at , but another passenger, Leah Giammarva, 19, was hospitalized in critical condition, the MDJ said.

Under warrants issued March 9, O’Donnell is charged with three misdemeanors—an improper lane change, reckless driving and driving too fast for the conditions—and one felony—causing a serious injury by vehicle.

The Official Code of Georgia Annotated defines that felony as causing “bodily harm to another by depriving him of a member of his body, by rendering a member of his body useless, by seriously disfiguring his body or a member thereof, or by causing organic brain damage which renders the body or any member thereof useless” by reckless or impaired driving.

It’s punishable by one to 15 years in prison.

Other charges are possible.
