Consignment Sales and Football Kickoff
This week's main events in Northeast Cobb also include a town hall meeting.
Thursday
District 3 Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell is holding a town hall meeting starting at 7 p.m. at the Mountain View Community Center.Friday
Mt. Paran North Church of God is having a childrens' consignment sale from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.Sandy Plains Baptist Church is having a childrens' consignment sale that is open to those with a friends and family pass Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and to the general public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
St. Andrew United Methodist Church will also have its childrens' consignment sale this weekend, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday.
High school football begins another season with five of the seven East Cobb-area teams in action this weekend. Wheeler is at Sprayberry and The Walker School is at Temple Friday.
Saturday
More high school football, but this is in the morning: Kell plays Chattahoochee and Walton faces Peachtree Ridge in the Georgia Dome in the first two games of the Corky Kell Classic, named in honor of the late former Wheeler coach. Pope and Lassiter kick off their seasons next weekend.
