Proverbs 16:31(Amp):
31 The hoary (gray) head is a crown of beauty and glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness - of spiritual and moral rectitude in every area and relation.

The book Proverbs is about wisdom. This verse focuses on the wisdom we acquire as we age and become more experienced in life. This experience can lead to wisdom, if we observe from the successes and failures of those around us (as well as our own) and learn from it. When a person reaches the senior years, he or she is a righteous person of God.
