Lassiter and Sprayberry Students 'Drawing for Diamonds'
Lassiter and Sprayberry students competed in a David Douglas Diamonds contest to custom-design their homecoming queen's necklace. The necklace will be presented at Friday's Homecoming Half Time show. Vote for your favorite in our poll.
and participated in 's Drawing for Diamonds contest. Drawing for Diamonds is a drawing and writing contest that gives students the opportunity to design a necklace for each school's homecoming queen. The winning design is created into a piece of jewelry that will be presented to the homecoming queen during homecoming ceremonies Friday.
This is Lassiterβs fourth year participating in the contest and Sprayberryβs first.

- First place: 11th grader Carter J.
- Second place: 12th grader Elena H.
- Third place: 10th grader Erin G.
This yearβs Sprayberry winners:
- First place: 12th grader Joy L.
- Second place: 9th grader Yannis G.
- Third place: 10th grader Danbi O.
The first place winner received a $250 gift certificate. Second and third place winners received a $100 gift certificate. The contest winners will be recognized during the Homecoming Pep Rally at each school. The homecoming queen will be presented the necklace during the Homecoming Half Time show during the game.

The custom-designed necklace retails for an estimated $1200. It is something the homecoming queen cherishes the rest of her life.
