Lassiter High School PROM-ise Campaign

Students are asked to sign a pledge of alcohol and drug abstinence for prom night.

The Lassiter High School prom is Saturday, March 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Foundry at Puritan Mill.

Lassiter wants every student to have a safe and enjoyable prom. To ensure that happens, the school kicked off a PROM-ise campaign Friday.

The PROM-ise campaign asks students who plan on attending this year’s prom to make a pledge committing themselves to enjoying the evening with their friends while refraining from consuming alcohol or using other substances.

Announcements were made, posters hung, and a box placed in the school's Skylight Hall to accept signed pledges.

The effort was initiated by students and is being supported by the Lassiter administration and PTSA. The PTSA will award prizes in a random drawing from submitted pledges.

Lassiter administrators said in a released statement, "We invite your support and encourage you to talk with your student about making this important commitment which will help make this year’s prom an enjoyable and successful evening."

Northeast Cobb Patch has included the pledge as a PDF file with this article. Parents can print it and send it to school with students.

All pledges must be turned in by Tuesday.
