Lassiter PTSA Offers Seven $1,000 Scholarships
The Margie Hatfield Scholarship application deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The Lassiter High School PTSA is offering seven $1,000 scholarships to qualifying seniors. Seniors need to complete an application and answer three essay questions about their community service efforts. Community service through School Clubs, Honor Societies, athletics or outside the school is applicable when completing the PTSA scholarship application.
Seniors must be a 2011-2012 PTSA member. Non-members may join PTSA at a cost of $10 if they wish to apply for the scholarship. New members can attach the $10 to the application upon submission.
Scholarship applications are available in the counseling office or at the PTSA website. The applications should be turned in no later than March 30 to the main office. Scholarship questions should be directed to Michelle Smith with "PTSA Scholarship" in the subject line.

Margie Hatfield Scholarship
The East Cobb County Council PTA sponsors the Margie Hatfield Scholarship to honor her years of service and dedication. One Lassiter student will be awarded $1,000 based on the application criteria: service oriented projects (40 percent), leadership and honors (20 percent), essay (15 percent), references (10 percent), following instructions (5 percent) and GPA (10 percent). Applications are available in the school counseling office or online. The submission deadline is Feb. 15.
