Missing Woman Found Dead in DeKalb
Investigators issued a Mattie's Call for Annie L. Smith after she went missing from the Ashley Manor Personal Care Home.
The search for a with dementia has come to a tragic end.
A body matching Annie L. Smith's description was found in the 1400 block of Hosea Williams Drive Thursday morning, Pat Bailey, director of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A neighbor noticed the body and called police, Bailey said.
Atlanta police responded to the vacant home and found the body on the back porch about 12:30 p.m., Cobb County police said in a news release Thursday evening.

The body was confirmed to be Smith, police said.
Anyone with information about how Smith made it 30 miles from her home and died is asked to call the Cobb police Crimes Against Persons Unit at 770-499-3945.
