Lasseter To Report to Prison on December 12 

Former Gwinnett County Commissioner Shirley Lasseter has been ordered to report to federal prison in Marianna, Fla, by Dec. 12 to begin serving a 33-month sentence for bribery, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported. Read more on Suwanee Patch.

Death of Lawrenceville College Student Not Yet Ruled Murder 

On Sunday, Nov. 18, 17 year old  Jasmine Cathleen Benjamin was found unresponsive on a couch in a study room at Valdosta State College, according to authorities. The Valdosta Daily Times reports Benjamin's death has not been definitively ruled a murder. 

“We are treating it as a homicide based off information and concerns provided by the medical examiner,” told Valdosta Police Department Cmdr. Brian Childress to the local paper. Read more on Lawrenceville Patch.
