Northeast Cobb Patch Editor's Farewell

Covering Northeast Cobb has been a great adventure.

As the Northeast Cobb Patch local editor, I've written about schools, the Canton Road revitalization, crime, politics, sports, traffic, neighborhoods, the weather, restaurants and interesting Northeast Cobb people. Now I'm moving on to new opportunities.

I launched Northeast Cobb Patch in November 2010, but it wasn't until December when I covered that my emotional ties to Northeast Cobb neighbors solidified. The death of Trooper LeCroy was a tragedy, and yet like most tragedies there was beauty and comfort in how the community came together to honor him.

I've enjoyed working with wonderful writers like , , , and .

I'm grateful for the officials who answered my emails on nights and weekends so that I could meet a deadline: JoAnn Birrell and Officer Mike Bowman and Sgt. Dana Pierce of the .

I couldn't write stories about Cobb's animals without the help of Janice Riccio from Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb County.

I am proud of many stories. I made mistakes but was always grateful to people who sent an email or posted on Facebook to bring them to my attention.

I am happy to leave a strong foundation for Patch's future in Northeast Cobb.
