One Word: Recall

A Northeast Cobb man wants a recall for commissioners.

Hi Julia and Neighbors,

In light of recent events at the Cobb County Board of Commissioners meeting, how do we make recall happen? I know there's a petition involved somehow. I'm ready to set aside time to make this happen if my neighbors are.

Did anyone else notice that Mr. Ott. fell asleep at the Tuesday night meeting? If Ott can't stay awake to properly handle the issues of this county, he needs to go. I'm not crazy about Mr. Lee either.

I believe that there has been mismanagement of funds in the Cobb County Senior Services. The senior center building sitting empty on Powder Spring Road cost over one million dollars.  It was not grandfathered into "the pre-9/11 fly zone from Dobbins" and now nothing can be done with it until 2014 or 2015. Swell.

The commissioners wasted taxpayer dollars on that building, and now taxpayers with seniors have to suffer with the closing of the Senior Day Center and Windy Hill Senior Center.

The masterminds on the Commission decide to close the senior centers that are most needed; to care for helpless seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia. They choose to keep the centers open for seniors who drive and get around just fine on their own.

Make sense? Not to me.

I'd like to wrap this up by saying that I am proud to be a Cobb County resident and taxpayer. I am proud of my neighbors who organized the silent protest for the libraries and show up to county meetings. Democracy at its finest.
