Sprayberry Girls Defeat North Murray 61-32

Sprayberry's Yellow Jackets were victorious at the round-robin pool play at the Southeast Hoopfest.

The girls basketball team had a strong finish in round-robin pool play at the Southeast Hoopfest, beating North Murray, 61-32.

The Lady Yellow Jackets outscored North Murray 22-6 in the fourth quarter to stretch the final margin, the Dalton Daily Citizen reported.

“They’re very good defensively — very well-coached and real disciplined in their half-court defense,” Lady Mountaineers coach Keith Robinette said. “They don’t give you anything. You have to earn every bit of it. It was great for our girls to experience that this early in the season.

“I just wish we had executed a little better, but right now we’re struggling with converting shots inside the paint.”

Shadae Pete made four of the seven 3-pointers by Sprayberry (2-0).
