Thumbs Up for Northeast Cobb High Schools
Atlanta Magazine rates Lassiter High School highly among the best public high schools in the metro area.
Northeast Cobb high schools are considered among the best in a recent Atlanta Magazine survey of public education in the metro Atlanta area.
In the January cover story entitled "The 50 Best Public High Schools," came in at No. 5, came in at No. 32, and was rated No. 46 in the survey, which includes 10 Cobb high schools.
East Cobb schools came in at No. 2, with 6th and rated No. 19.

The full rankings, based on nine indicators, are behind a non-subscription pay wall. North Fulton and Gwinnett schools also scored high. Here's how Northeast Cobb schools were rated, according to data from the 2009--2010 shool year the magazine compiled from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement:
-- Average SAT scores: Lassiter ranks 11th, Kell 38th, Sprayberry 52nd.

-- Ga. High School Grad Test/Math: Lassiter 5.5th, Kell 34.5th, Sprayberry 34.5th.
-- Ga. High School Grad Test/Language Arts: Lassiter 3rd, Kell 49.5th, Sprayberry 24.5th.
-- Graduation Rate: Lassiter 3rd, Kell 13th, Sprayberry 69th.
-- Advanced Placement Exams: Lassiter 16th, Kell 27th, Sprayberry 39th.
-- AP Passing Rate: Lassiter 11th, Kell 48.5th, Sprayberry 53rd.
-- Learning Support: Lassiter not ranked, Kell 25th, Sprayberry 43.5rd.
-- HOPE Eligibility: Lassiter 9th, Kell 11th, Sprayberry 45th.
-- College Prep Diploma: Lassiter 43.5rd, Kell 71.5, Sprayberry 70th.
