This weekend get out to the second annual Art, Barks & Purrs event at the Cobb Animal Shelter; the Georgia Dachshund Races at Jim Miller Park; storytime on Marietta Square and more.
2nd Annual ART, BARKS & PURRS
- When: Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Where: Cobb County Animal Control Shelter Front Lawn: 1060 Al Bishop Dr., Marietta 30060
- What: Bring a cat or dog food donation to help the community. The event features animal-related crafts made by local arts and crafts vendors.
Georgia Dachshund Races
- When: Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 10 a.m.
- Where: Jim Miller Park: 2245 Callaway Road SW, Marietta 30008
- What: This weekend come out for races for adult doxies, mixed doxies, non doxies, senior doxies, puppy doxies and wheelies; doggie weddings; and a dog talent contest on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be doggie weddings and a dog talent contest.
Storytime & Book Signing: Patty's Secret
- When: Saturday, June 22, 2013, 11:00 AM
- Where: Lizards and Lollipopz: 33 West Park Square, Marietta 30060
- What: Children's book author Leneille Moon will be signing her first children book entitled Patty's Secret: A Tale about a Girl with Food Allergies at Lizards and Lollipops.
Children's Event: Bug Squad Party
- When: Saturday, June 22, 11 a.m.
- Where: Smyrna Public Library, 100 Village Green Circle, Smyrna
- What: Dress like your favorite bug and join the library for stories, games and crafts.
Big Shanty Antiques and Gifts Art Walk
- When: Friday, June 21, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Where: 1720 N. Roberts Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144
- What: Big Shanty Antiques and Gifts is having their first Art Walk, featuring work from local artists.
