Why Are Foreigners Getting U.S. Jobs?
The U.S. government has a program to issue tens of thousands of J1 visas to foreign students so they can work here for two months to improve their English skills.

Dear Northeast Cobb Patch,
I read on Yahoo! News that our government's J-1 visa program brings foreign students to our country to work for two months and learn English. The program was apparently designed to fill seasonal tourism jobs at resorts and seaside towns, and other businesses.
Four hundred foreign students employed at a Pennsylvania factory that makes Hershey's candies walked off the job in protest on Wednesday because they make $8.35 an hour and their rent and program fees are deducted from their paychecks, leaving them with less money than they spent to get the visas and travel to the country, reports Yahoo! News.

I feel sorry for the foreign workers who are not being fairly compensated.
I am upset with our government and businesses.

Yahoo! News states that businesses save about 8 percent by using a foreign worker because they do not have to pay Social Security and other taxes.
As an unemployed American citizen, I am furious that our government would allow businesses to use foreign workers at a time when the unemployment rate is high, social security is being depleted, and we're a country in debt.
Has capitalism taken precedence over preserving our nation? Why does the government allow business to operate on foreign soil or employing foreigners when the American people suffer by it?
