
Shawn Williams, Principal at in Barrow County, was recently recognized as one of six Georgia Distinguished Principals at the annual conference of the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals.Â
Williams’ most significant accomplishments include AES being identified as a national Music in Education Learning Lab School. AES is also a teaching and learning laboratory for ArtsNOW and is considered a leadership school that disseminates best practices to schools across the state and nation in the area of art integration. She was also awarded with the School Bell Award for innovative instructional programs.Â
Williams, who is pictured here with her husband Byron, and her parents, Charles and Carol Ivie, is a lifelong resident of Oconee County.
