The Reverend John Andrew Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution recently dedicated another book to the Oconee County Library.
"Cemeteries and Deaths in Banks County, Georgia," by Richard J. Chambers, was presented to Sarah Colombo, curator of the genealogy collection. The 639-page book was commercially printed in Toccoa, Georgia on February 1, 2000.
Helping individuals uncover their ancestral roots is another way the DAR helps preserve local history. Oconee County residents interested in Banks County ancestry may discover some historical facts with the donation of Richard J. Chamber's book.
