McDaniel Recipient of Statewide Honor from the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century

Oconee County resident Kate McDaniel was recently recognized by the Thomas Miller Chapter, Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century with this year's Community Service Award.

According to Nedra Johnson, 1st vice president of the local Chapter, McDaniel's application was sent on to the state level where she also won first place. She will be honored at the Georgia State Convention of the Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century convention at a banquet on Friday, March 2 in Macon. She is also in the running for the national award.

McDaniel runs the blog "A Positive Voice for Oconee County," which features galleries of photos she takes at events and meetings around the county.
