The Oconee County Warrior Competition team closed their season with a 7th place finish at State.

"The AAA division was extremely talented with high difficulty levels and execution scores," Coach Molly Spencer said.  "We went into the competition knowing that our difficulty could not match those of the veteran teams, so we had to earn every point we could with excellent execution.  Our athletes took the floor with great confidence and executed the routine very well."

She said one of the squad's main goals was to leave the competition floor knowing that they did their very best.

"They finally came together as a team and believed in themselves and their teammates," Spencer said.  "Their high finish is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the program.

"I would like to recognize Michaela Hyduke, who stepped up as a senior leader at the State Championships and helped build unity and confidence."
