Each year the Oconee Rotary Club is pleased to provide dictionaries for every third grade student in the county, in both public and private schools.Â
The books are purchased through the Dictionary Project, a non-profit organization based in Charleston, South Carolina, whose sole mission is to distribute dictionaries to as many third graders throughout the U.S. as possible.Â

A bookplate is placed inside the front cover of each dictionary that tells where the gift came from, and provides a place for the students to record their names.Â
Oconee Rotarian and former High Shoals Elementary School Principal Tom Brown spearheads this worthy project. Â
