OCS Students Qualify for State Academic Competitions

The following announcement appeared in a weekly email update from Oconee County Schools Superintendent John Jackson:

, came in third at the District Spelling Bee and will go on to the State Spelling Bee as an alternate. Nick Byrd has qualified at the state level to represent MBMS in the State Geography Bee. Congratulations to both students!

Congratulations also to Chuanbo Pan for qualifying for the State Science Fair. Chuanbo earned the Distinguished Award in the Senior Division (2nd Best Overall in Fair), the Intel Excellence in Computer Science Award, the X-treme Geek Award, and the Army Award. Two of the awards came with a total cash prize of $250.00. He will represent NOHS and the county at the State Science Fair, March 29-31.
