“I am pleased to congratulate Alex for the second year in row,” Broun said in a released statement.  “After he received an appointment last year, Alex deferred attending West Point due to an injury.  However, he now is fully recovered and has proven himself truly deserving of this opportunity.  We wish him well in this endeavor, confident that he will make a fine cadet and achieve a successful military career.”

A signing ceremony for Alex wil take place at 1 p.m. on  Feb. 22 in Broun's Athens district office, according to a news release.
