Blue Moon Over Bethlehem

A Patch reader shares images of the most recent "Blue Moon," which occurred on Aug. 31, 2012. Upload your photos and videos now for a chance at this week's giveaway.

The second full moon to take place in the same calendar month -- which most recently fell on Aug. 31, 2012 -- is referred to as a "Blue Moon."  According to EarthSky.org, it's a phenomena that occurs about once every 2-3 years.  The next will happen on July 31, 2015, moongiant.com reports.
