2 Charged After Being Accused Of Beating, Shooting Snellville Man

Police said the man has a medical condition and thought he was entering his home when he was beaten and shot Friday.

SNELLVILLE, GA — Two people are facing charges after police say they beat and shot a man with a medical condition they thought was trying to break into their home.

According to Snellville Police, a police lieutenant responding to a burglary call around 9 a.m. at Rockdale Circle saw a man beating another man on the roadside.

After separating the men, the lieutenant saw the man had been shot and applied a tourniquet to hinder bleeding, police said.

According to police, the man formerly lived at the home of the pair facing charges and thought he was entering his home. Police said force was never used.

The two people chased the man from the house and from the neighborhood, police said.

The man who police say was shot and beaten has been released from the hospital, police said.

The person accused of shooting the man is charged on suspicion of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm while the person accused of beating the man is charged on suspicion of battery, police said. The two people were not identified.
