Job Alert: Security Officer

Emory Eastside is hiring a full-time security officer.  

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs general security work in hospital environment.
• Protects persons and properties associated with Eastside Medical Center (EMC).
• Enforces all applicable policies, rules and regulations of EMC.
• Enforces applicable federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents or incidents.

Department Specific Criteria:

• Makes rounds of buildings and grounds per schedule.
• Completes security log noting all checks and inspection areas as well as any incidents or unusual situations that require follow up.
• Assist with disruptive patients/visitors as requested by the Emergency Room staff.
• Performs PBX/operator duties.

Must be able to pass certification in:

• Use of Deadly Force
• Tactical Expandable Baton
• Defensive Tactics
• Handcuffing Techniques and Taser Certification

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) within 90 days
• CPI Training within 6 months of employment or transfer
• 1Year experience in security, law enforcement or military service
• Valid Georgia drivers license
• Basic keyboarding skills
• Excellent communication skills
