Royal-Themed Event To Raise Awareness Of Mother-Helping Org

A Snellville woman is opening her home to raise awareness of the needs of new mothers and their babies.

SNELLVILLE, GA – A Snellville woman is opening her home to raise awareness of the needs of new mothers and their babies.

Regina Hart, an employee at Snellville City Hall, will host an open house to let others know about Helping Mamas, a Norcross-based organization which collects donations and supplies to help new mothers in need and their babies. Helping Mamas has served 35,000 children. More than 850,000 baby items have been distributed and volunteers have worked 6,600 hours for the cause.

β€œThe mission of Helping Mamas is to connect helping mamas to mamas needing help,” according to the organization’s website helpingmamas.org. β€œWe are the baby supply bank for Georgia.”

Hart’s open house is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. Feb. 16 at her home, 1694 Holly Lake Circle in Snellville. There is a Royal Baby Shower theme in honor of expecting mother Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex. Attendees are asked to β€œdress like a Royal in your Sunday best, with fancy hats and/or fascinators.” A light tea will be served.

  • Pack and Plays
  • Portable Swings

Helping Mamas will accept the following items only if they are new:

  • Car seats
  • Toys
  • Bottles
  • Breast Pumps
  • Pacifier

Helping Mamas does not accept the following items:

  • Play structures
  • Race tracks
  • Outside toys
  • Ride on toys
  • Sports equipment or uniforms
  • Bathing suits
  • Exersaucer
  • Large swings
  • Jumpers
  • Mattresses
  • Furniture
