Georgia Department of Education officials announced the award May 9.

Shiloh Middle School has been named one of four winners of the Georgia Department of Education's Family-Friendly Partnership School Award.
The announcement came May 9. Besides Shiloh Middle, other winners are Enota Multiple Intelligence Academy in Gainesville, St. Simons Elementary School in Glynn Count, and Woodstock Elementary School in Cherokee County.

"The schools that won this award understand the importance of what welcoming environments bring to student success," said state school Superintendent John Barge. "Truly, they are models for the entire state on how to engage families and make parents feel welcome from the moment that they walk in the door."
The four winners will receive a visit from the state school superintendent in the fall, a plaque and a welcome mat for their front doors.
