Snellville Elects New Councilman, Passes Earlier Sunday Sales
Snellville has a new city councilman and approved earlier Sunday alcohol sales.
SNELLVILLE, GA -- Snellville has a new city councilman to fill the unexpired term of Barbara Bender, who served Post 5. Earlier Sunday alcohol sales were also approved in a Tuesday's special election.
Tod Warner earned more vote than Antonio Molina by a 200-vote margin. Warner received 844 votes while Molina received 641 votes.
Bender was appointed to the office of mayor earlier this year when former Mayor Tom Witts stepped down.

Snellville residents have elected to pass the Sunday Brunch Referendum in the City. Properly licensed local restaurants will now be able to serve alcohol at 11 a.m. on Sundays, as opposed to the current time of 12:30 p.m.
The referendum passed with 1,032 votes for the measure and 471 against.
