Suwanee Day Traffic Warnings Sounded
City officials are preparing for Saturday's parade and mega-festival.

Suwanee Day always means unprecedented traffic, and city officials already are getting the word out about how to cope.
The festival starts early Saturday (Sept. 21) with a parade at 9 a.m. According to the city Facebook page, the parade will cause traffic congestion on Eva Kennedy Road, Scales Road, and Main Street beginning at 7 a.m. Buford Highway (from McGinnis Ferry Road to Suwanee Dam Road) and Suwanee Dam Road will close around 8:45 a.m. and reopen about 10:30 am.
This year, the parade will start at Stonecypher Road in Old Town, proceed up Main Street, turn right on Suwanee Dam Road, and conclude at Chicago Avenue in the Town Center area.
The city also has advised people how to use off-site parking and shuttles to the festival.
