Suwanee Man Arrested After Pulling Knife on Wife

The couple's daughter also was involved in the domestic incident, according to police.

A Suwanee man is facing aggravated assault charges after an incident in which police say he threatened his wife with a knife, then kept her from calling 911.

During the July 8 incident, Jerry Todd Brooks of a Swan Mill Court address held a knife to his wife's face, then told her that when she was asleep, he was going to injure her with it and that her "eyeballs would fill with blood and he would be the last person she would see before she died," according to the Suwanee Police incident report.

The couple is in the process of divorcing.

Brooks' wife then fled to her daughter's room (the daugher was in the room at the time) and attempted to call 911. But Brooks kicked the door in, grabbed the phone, and said "no one is calling 911," the police report said.

Later, Brooks' wife ran from the room and called 911 from the home phone, and Brooks fled the scene at that time.

When Brooks later called his wife at their home, she handed the phone to a Suwanee officer, and he asked him to return to the scene, which he did.

When questioned by police, Brooks denied touching a knife. However, police handcuffed him when he became boisterous. A knife later was found on the kitchen table, and Brooks' wife identified it as the weapon that was used in the incident.
