Suwanee Welcomes the Cleary Brothers Home

"They wanted to be with their friends."

And so said a neighbor Sunday afternoon in Suwanee Town Center Park, moments before Ben and Henry Cleary arrived at a prayer vigil and homecoming in their honor.

Just a day before, the brothers, who live with their mother in the Suwanee Station area, had been rescued by police in Austin, Texas, from a national Amber Alert situation. Their father, Daniel Cleary of Roswell, took the boys there, extending a scheduled holiday visit unlawfully. He now is in custody of authorities in Texas.

About 2 p.m. Sunday, several friends and neighbors prayed during an impromptu session at the park. The event formally was cleared expeditiously by city officials.

Then the brothers and their mother, a smiling but weary Theresa Nash, arrived about 2:30. Nash was swamped with well-wishing hugs, and the boys ... well, treated it like just another day at the park.
