Organizers say some 250 varieties will be available for sampling.

Wine lovers, get ready. There's fresh word of an event in Suwanee in October 2013 that will appeal to you.

According to a news release, the Suwanee Wine Fest is scheduled for Town Center Park for Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. Some 250 varieties of wines will be available for sampling, the release said.

The event, the first such festival for Suwanee, is organized by Veugler Design Group, which has put on the American Craft Beer Fest the past three years in Suwanee. Veugler also publishes Suwanee Magazine.

Tickets are $55 in advance. If there's no sellout, admission will be $65 the day of the event. Advance tickets will go on sale on Aug. 16 via the event website. VIP tickets also will be available.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Annandale Village, the Suwanee based non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing life assistance to adults with developmental disabilities.

Also, some Suwanee restaurants will provide food samples, and food will also be available for purchase.
