Alexis used to live in Peachtree City and attended McIntosh High School, according to news reports.

Her family was fearful that their daughter had gotten caught up in sex trafficking. Metro Atlanta is a major hub for sex exploitation, something that local police departments have alerted the public about on many occasions.

Her mother posted a picture of herself and Alexis, with scores of people wishing them well.

"She is receiving medical treatment and being observed but aside from needing medication, she seems to be in good health," her mom posted.
