Whiz Kid of the Week

Name: Sonny Romeo, 14 years old

School: Grady High School

Accomplishment: Sonny serves as an Assistant Instructor at the Atlanta Kick Karate Studio where he achieved his black belt. He is also a charter member of the Special Team Of Role Models (STORM) team and was named as team captain due to his dedication and enthusiasm. Sonny was selected by his middle school Principal to serve as a student member of the Design Team for the APS Transformation of Grady High School. Sonny has been active in Student Government and Jr. Beta Club and currently serves as a Student Ambassador for “High Schools That Work.” He has written a variety of poems for literary competitions and has written several articles for his school newspaper. Recently, he was a guest reporter at a workshop on Israeli cuisine sponsored by the Israeli Consulate located in Atlanta.

Key to Awesomeness: Sonny has amazing written and verbal communication skills. He enjoys reading and is interested in politics and current events. He is never lacking in opinions and glad to share them with anyone who will listen!
