Family-Oriented Italian-American Restaurant To Open In October
Passero will make its home at the former location of Day Go Dogs and 'Za in downtown Arlington Heights.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Heights Village Board gave initial approval Tuesday to a liquor license request from a proposed family-oriented restaurant that will serve Italian and American fare. The new eatery, Passero, plans to open in October in the former location of Day Go Dogs and 'Za at 5 W. Campbell St., according to the Daily Herald.
Passero will be run by Matt Peota, who will be the chef, and his wife, Rikki, who owns 85 percent of the business, the report stated. Matt Peota's father, Scott, owns the remaining 15 percent. The Peotas plan to open the restaurant Oct. 17, the report added.
The Class A liquor license allows Passero to serve beer and wine, and along with those beverages, the restaurant also will serve craft cocktails, the report stated. Final approval for the license will come after renovations to the location are finished and reviewed by village staff, the report added.
