Woman Fatally Hit By Metra Train Near Arlington Heights
UPDATED: The unidentified victim is described as a Hispanic woman between 20 and 40 years old.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A woman was fatally hit by a Metra train Friday morning near Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway, according to a statement issued by the village. The accident happened around 7:45 a.m. Friday, July 21, and the incident caused major delays.
According to authorities, the unidentified woman walked into the path of the eastbound No. 626 Metra train as it left the Arlington Heights downtown depot and crossed Arlington Heights Road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene when paramedics arrived, the village release stated. The victim is described as a Hispanic woman between 20 and 40 years old with curly black hair. She was wearing a peach shirt, black pants and gray flip-flops.

The Cook County medical examiner's office is investigating the woman's death. Anyone with information about the accident should call the Arlington Heights Police Department at 847-368-5300.
