Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge Coming Up

It is expected that this Sunday, over 350 people will be running into the lake at Twin Lakes Recreation Area in Palatine.

From Arlington Heights Police: Members of the Arlington Heights Police Department (AHPD) will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 in Palatine at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area at 1200 East Twin Lakes Drive. This team of plungers will be freezin’ for a reason - as it is a unique opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes by taking a dip into frigid waters.

It is expected that this Sunday, over 350 people will be running into the lake at Twin Lakes Recreation Area in Palatine. The plunge will begin at noon and we expect to be finished by 12:45 (yes, it is FAST)! Please be sure to arrive at the BMO Harris Parking Lot (800 Northwest Hwy.) no later than 11:00 a.m. to ensure you have enough time to park, take the shuttle to the plunge site and get checked in.

Parking will be available for all plungers, spectators and volunteers in the BMO Plant Parking Lot located at 800 Northwest Highway. Shuttles will be running on a continuous loop to the plunge site during the event. Parking in any other lot/street will be at your own risk. Members of the Arlington Heights Police Department have been plunging in this event since 2008; and participate in other events for Special Olympics throughout the year including Cop on Top, Torch Run, Plane Pull, Tip a Cop and Brave Basketball Challenges.
