Mount Prospect Man Charged In High-End Bike Thefts In Chicago

Justin Milos, 30, faces 3 counts of felony burglary stemming from a string thefts earlier this month.

CHICAGO, IL — A Mount Prospect man is accused in a string of high-end bicycle thefts earlier this month in the South Loop, according to Chicago police. Justin Milos, 30, of the 900 block of South Elm Street, faces three counts of felony burglary stemming from the thefts. He was ordered held on $40,000 bail, and his next court date is July 24.

Milos was arrested at around 1:4o p.m. Monday, July 17, in the 5600 block of North Sheridan Road. Police identified Milos thanks to security camera video, as well as community assistance, in connection with bike thefts between 10 p.m. July 1 and 8:30 p.m. July 2 in the 1000 block of South Clark Street, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. On July 7, police issued an alert concerning bike thefts in the South Loop from June 22 until July 4. In those incidents, the bikes were stolen from residential parking garages, and two other suspects — black men between 35 and 45 years old wearing yellow work vests — were identified in the alert.
