Stabbing Started As Fight Between Friends: Cops

The victim suffered non-fatal injuries, and police are hunting the alleged offender.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Police are investigating a stabbing that reportedly happened Sunday night in Arlington Heights after a dispute between friends turned violent. A person was stabbed with a knife at around 8:30 p.m. in the 0-100 block of Campbell Street, the Daily Herald reports. The victim suffered from non-fatal injuries and was taken to a local hospital, the report added.

According to police, the incident started when two friends started tussling, and one of them hit the other with a beer bottle and fled, the report stated. That's when another person unconnected to the fight tried to stop the fleeing friend, the report added.

A knife was pulled during this confrontation, and the victim was stabbed by the friend trying to escape, the report stated. The alleged offender then fled the scene, the report added.
