Still No Charges In Chainsaw Attack That Critically Hurt Man (VIDEO)
The alleged attacker is accused of intentionally ramming his car into the victim's vehicle Monday before chasing him through a parking lot.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Charges still have not been announced in what Arlington Heights police are calling a domestic situation Monday that involved a man, 28, who is accused of intentionally crashing his car into another vehicle before using a chainsaw to attack the other driver. The victim — a 39-year-old man — remains in critical condition at Northwest Community Hospital after undergoing surgery Monday for a cut to his forearm, according to the Daily Herald.
The incident began at around 1:12 p.m. Monday, June 19, in the 500 block of West Golf Road when police accuse the attacker of intentionally ramming his car into the victim's vehicle, the Arlington Heights Post reports. Following the crash, the alleged attacker wielded a chainsaw and chased the victim through a nearby industrial complex parking lot. The victim's girlfriend also was in the car at the time, but police said she wasn't hurt, according to the Post. Police Cmdr. Nathan Hayes told the Herald that Monday's incident began as a domestic fight, but he did not provide further details. The alleged attacker is currently in custody.
A video taken by an individual shortly after the incident had ended and posted to YouTube on Monday shows police apprehending a shirtless suspect face down on on the parking lot pavement. An orange chainsaw is seen sitting unattended near a parking lot curb. The footage, which contains harsh language, also features what appears to be a trail of blood leading from the sidewalk and into one of the complex's buildings.
